The Bamboo Blow Pipe is a non-lethal weapon for purchase at Yardbomb's Voodoo Shop in the Slums. It works just like the crossbow with tranq-darts, but is more effective. Prior to version 1.0.1 the blow pipe could equiped with a scope.
Obtaining it
You can purchase this weapon for 1750 credits from Yardbomb in his shop. The shop is always open on day 1, and only on day 2 if the player has advised Yardbomb not to sell the shop to WorldCorp. Unlike the original Deus Ex (and many instances in The Nameless Mod), saving, paying to obtain the code, and loading your saved game will not work as using the code without purchasing the weapon will set of an alarm (although the player can still escape the shop through the teleporters if they are active).
Description
UNIQUE WEAPON:
The blow pipe - Originally used by the TutiFruti tribe to pick their enemies off silently, until they found out how to use guns. Now mostly used by the clueless n00b-tribe who doesn't know how to fire any weapon more advanced. This particular pipe has been carefully engraved with the symbol of a powerful shaman of the TutiFruti tribe.
Usage
The Bamboo Blow Pipe works in a similar fashion to the mini-crossbow. You hit someone, and after a while they will be knocked unconscious. Although it is more powerful than the tranq-darts of the crossbow, the blow darts travel slower and are effected more by gravity. For best results fire 2 into a target of choice and hide for a while before proceeding. Since it takes a while to incapacitate a target with this weapon, it's not advisable to use it in direct combat.
