DX Editing
Deus Ex Editing, commonly referred to as DX Editing, or DXE, is a modding university located in the Corporate District of ForumPlanet. Led by AsylumX and amongst others employing Carone, famous from the Hotel Carone modification, this school has helped many a Deus Ex modder in their first steps. For a school, it is heavily patrolled by the private security from Cerulean Security International.
Role in Game
Inaccessible on the first day, DXE plays host to a side mission that Wolfy has for you, the completion of which will be rewarded with 2000 credits. Aside from that mission, it has no role in the game.
Locations
- Entrance hallway. Here you will meet Dazza, who can be persuaded or bribed to give some keypad codes for the side mission. The guard at the desk will initially be friendly to you when you enter, but will be hostile when you leave. Unlike the other guards, he is vulnerable to rice bags, since he isn't wearing a helmet.
- Upstairs. Some scenes from Deus Ex are modelled here, and there's a vent shaft leading to the security room.
- Basement level. You can get here from the elevator. CSI guards patrol the perimeter. Straight ahead from the elevator, there's a small storage room containing an Augmentation Canister. To the right is the way to your objectives.
- Security room. Across a catwalk visible from the elevator. CSI guards monitor the compound from here. Once the guards are taken out, cameras will no longer pose a problem.
- Tech support office. Located to the right and upwards, here you can find some goodies and PC terminals that can be hacked to read some employees' e-mails. If you didn't receive the code from Dazza, an email read from the computer will give it to you.
- Server Rooms 1, 2, and 3 are located here.
- Storage. Across from server room 3. Holds goodies.
- Bottom level. Use the elevator just beyond server room 3 to go down. Beware the security bot.
- Server room 4.
- Carone's office. Here you can find your main objective.
- Storage. Directly across from Carone's office. Contains an Augmentation Upgrade Canister.
