Electromagnetic pulse grenades are used for the disabling or disrupting of electronic devices like security bots, lasers, turrets, and cameras. While bots stay disabled forever, cameras, turrets, and lasers re-activate after a time, whereas a LAM would be a permanent solution but make more noise.
EMP grenades are also excellent in draining the bioelectricity of augmented opponents who do not have the Energy Shield augmentation, or Aggressive Defense System to protect them from the impact of the grenade.
Obtaining it
EMP grenades can be found in a variety of different locations throughout Forum City, and can be bought in the Vending machine in Raving's Weapon Shop.
Description
The EMP grenade creates a localized pulse that will temporarily disable all electronics within its area of effect, including cameras and security grids.
Important: While nanotech augmentations are largely unaffected by EMP, experiments have shown that it WILL cause the spontaneous dissipation of stored bioelectric energy.
Usage
EMP grenades should only be used on augmented people and electronic material. They're useless against organic opponents who do not have augmentations. The safest method of delivery would be to place them as a boobytrap in the patrol path of a robot. Furthermore EMP grenades are lethal to Firewalls of any kind.
