I think it's designed as an anti-personnel weapon, 'cause as far as I can tell the payload in the rockets isn't quite powerful enough to make them effective against robots. -Dr. Dumb Lunatic
The Quad Rocket Launcher is an anti-personnel rocket launcher, unlike the GEP-Gun. It uses EMP Rockets as alternative ammunition though and can still be used to take on the smaller droids. This weapon was buffed for version 1.0.2 of TNM since it was not often used due to its sheer size and low ammo capacity (which has been increased with the new version).
While this weapon is labeled as "Unique" it can be found more than once in the game.
Obtaining it
The player can construct the Quad Launcher on Day 1 by traversing the sewers in the Corporate District, and finding Dr. Dumb Lunatic. He'll give the player some schematics that can be used in conjunction with the Universal Constructor in WorldCorp's Secret Basement to create the weapon. On Day 2 this option is no longer available, even if you have the schematics. If you have passed up on this option, one of the guards on top the roof of the clothing factory of Aunt Betty Industries also carries one.
Description
UNIQUE WEAPON:
This anti-personnel rocket launcher is a product of modern cooling technology; the special coolant liquid inside the barrel maintains a constant temperature, allowing it to discharge up to 4 rockets one after the other. For practical purposes, however, the rockets are quite small and carry a limited charge which is all but useless against armored targets such as tanks or robots.
Usage
When using the Quad Launcher, remember that it's primarily a person killer; one hit with a rocket is almost more than enough to kill any standard guard in the game, but the area effect of the rocket blast is far smaller, so groups of enemies and robots are not affected as much. The Quad Launcher has a larger capacity than the GEP Gun and because it fires its rockets in quick succession, it's great for killing people who are distanced far away from one another quickly and effectively. It's also far safer to use in close quarters (but don't try and shoot someone standing right next to you).
