The sniper rifle is the weapon of choice for taking down your opponents from a long distance, and then disappearing into the night.
Obtaining it
Sniper rifles aren't as common as the other rifles in TNM. Your earliest chance to get one would be in the DXO hideout when playing with WorldCorp, in the security room on the 3rd floor of the WorldCorp HQ, in the Corporate District sewers, or by incapacitating one of the Llama's when playing with higher enemy quantities.
Description
The military sniper rifle is the superior tool for the interdiction of long-range targets. When coupled with the proven 30.06 round, a marksman can achieve tight groupings at better than 1 MOA (minute of angle) depending on environmental conditions.
Usage
This weapon isn't for close combat, even if it can handle itself quite nicely at close range. It truly shines when used at a large distance though. Using its scope and its high damage for picking off your opponents with headshots, without even giving them a chance to strike back, is the main advantage of this weapon. Find a high spot with clear vision over all your foes, and nothing can stop you.
If you play with PDX you might want to refrain from modifying this weapon, instead keeping your weapon mods for the superior ZeroPresence's Rifle. With WorldCorp this is also an option, but Scara B. King won't be happy if you kill one of his agents, and you will miss out on a quest if you do it too early.
If you've mastered your skill in Rifles, this weapon can destroy cameras, security panels, and most non-invincible doors.
