The synthetic heart circulates not only blood but a steady concentration of mechanochemical power cells, smart phagocytes and liposomes containing prefab diamondoid machine parts, resulting in upgrades performance for all installed augmentations. However, this will not enhance any augmentation past its maximum upgrade level.

Canister details

Synthetic Heart is one of the options from an Augmentation Canister, together with Power Recirculator. There are three canisters containing these in the game (1 however is obtained from a Goat cult mission and a 2nd is obtained from a Lamma cult mission, meaning they can not be obtained in the same game).

It takes up one of the three Torso slots. Alternatives are Aqualung, Environmental Resistance, Power Recirculator, Energy Shield and Regeneration.

Augmentation details

Synthetic Heart only has one level. While active, all augmentations gain another level, up to their maximum. This allows you to turn any level 3 aug into a level 4 aug temporarily, at the cost of more bioelectric energy.

Usage and strategy

This aug can save you a lot of upgrade canisters. In theory, you only need to upgrade augs to level 3. If you ever need a fourth level, you can achieve it by activating this aug. The problem is the cost, since it drains 100 units per minute. The Power Recirculator helps to counter the cost, but then you need two augs in your torso slot in order to save up to 8 upgrade canisters. Of course, if you have plenty of energy to spare, it's a great aug, but it's hard to rely on it constantly.
